How It Works: Open Channel Flow
Using ultrasonic level technology, Greyline open channel flow meters include a non-contacting sensor mounted above the flume or weir. By measuring the time from transmission of an ultrasonic pulse to receipt of an echo, the water level or "Head" is accurately measured.

YOu cannot claibrate an open channel flowmeter in the field. You can configure and set it up though. CALIBRATION shold only be done by the manufaturer.

Hey, Sajjad! This instrument has been replaced with the newest version, the TTFM 6.1. It can measure flow of clean liquids (less than 2% solids/bubbles) in full pipes made from carbon steel, stainless steel, ductile iron, concrete lined ductile iron, cast iron, PVC, HDPE, PVDF, copper, brass, aluminum and pipes with bonded liners including epoxy, rubber and Teflon. ruclips.net/video/II4fIvRmijY/видео.html
